If you’re happy and you know it, show some teeth

Day 33
Wednesday, February 02, 2011
I wasn't in one of my “best moods” today, I was just happy be home and get in the shower after a very difficult one hour yoga session followed by a half hour high impact cardio workout. I was pooped, sweaty, and in a hurry to meet my husband in less than an hour. I drove through the housing gate and was greeted by a smiling security guard, I just smiled back and handed him my military ID. He took one look and me and said, “I like when you come through the gate, you’re always so happy!”

This totally made my day and I took that positive energy with me when I met my husband on base for a meeting, and everyone there asked me why I was so "smiley." I just explained to them how good it felt to be in a positive mood and hoped it would rub off on them.

  1. Exactly, you made me smile too! I used to have my favorite guard on post too. He would always smile, call me by name and tell me a joke if I was a bit down! Just goes to show a little bit of kindness can go for miles. My favorite saying, "Smiles are contagious!"
