Living in Germany has been a bit of a culture shock. We aren't used to everything being closed on Sundays and it really puts a damper on enjoying the weekend when you only have one day to spend exploring, and shopping off base. Most Sundays we end up going to the gym, doing our grocery shopping, and lounging around the house or going to a movie on base. This Sunday was no exception. Matt and I went to the Commissary and bought food for the week, came home and put it all away, and then he played his Call of Duty game on the PS3 while I worked on my school work.
I really enjoy grocery shopping and I like it even more when Matt comes with me. We take our list and while I push the cart and search for the freshest fruit, vegetables, and meat, Matt runs through the aisles and gets all the heavy stuff. Since we live on the top floor of our building, we try to make it upstairs all in one trip.
For dinner I ate my favorite, a juicy steak and salad. Then we spend a couple of hours watching a movie before heading to bed. I love simple days like these where we just take it easy but still get things done.
